Darren James is an interior design studio from Brisbane, Australia. Since 2005 they specialize in the design, manufacturing and installation of the highest quality kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes and interiors. They can manage the project from initial design through to installed completion.
For one of their clients, Darren James designed this beautiful contemporary kitchen. The goal was to create a streamlined, high quality design that caters to the needs of a passionate home chef. Personally, I think they’re very happy with this modern kitchen.
The owners have a passion for baking. That’s why the designers chose a 20mm piece of Calacutta marble. This gorgeous slab adds some visual character and complements the other natural elements nicely.
There’s also plenty of stainless steel in this kitchen. The metal benchtop provides the ultimate surface in terms of heat resistance and hygiene. Stainless steel Miele appliances further enhance the cutting edge design. To complete the high class look, black intivo drawers and glass shelves were used.
The centerpiece of this kitchen – the island – has two functions. First of all it serves as a working area that can be used to prepare food. The other side has been raised 20mm to be used as a casual seating and dining area. Below the kitchen island and cabinets you’ll find an LED light strip that highlights the design of the cabinetry.
